Carrier Recommendations

MonarkHQ now automatically generates carrier recommendations for a group after census data is saved. These recommendations are computed based on the group's census profile and reflect which carriers are the best fit for the group's characteristics — helping brokers identify the right markets to approach when quoting coverage.

How Recommendations Are Generated

When you save or update a group's census, Monark runs a carrier assessment in the background. The assessment evaluates the group against each carrier's eligibility and fit criteria and produces a recommendation status for each carrier and coverage type combination.

The assessment runs automatically — no action is required to trigger it. Results are typically available within seconds of saving the census.

Where Recommendations Appear

Pet Insurance Quoting

On the pet instant quotes page, a provider access strip shows which pet insurance carriers are available for the group. Carrier cards indicate access status, making it clear which carriers Monark can return quotes from for the group's census.

Adding Coverage Types

When you click + Add Coverage in a Proposal, the coverage type dialog now reflects the carrier assessment results. This helps you understand at a glance which markets are worth configuring an RFP for based on the group's profile.

Refreshing Recommendations

Recommendations update automatically each time the census is saved. If you make significant changes to the census — such as updating member count, ZIP codes, or group structure — save the census to trigger a fresh assessment.

For cases where a recommendation needs to be recalculated without a census change, contact Monark support via chat at monarkhq.com.

Notes

  • Carrier recommendations are informational guidance — they reflect fit based on census characteristics, not a guarantee of coverage availability or underwriting approval.
  • A carrier not surfaced as a recommendation may still respond to an RFP; recommendations help prioritize outreach, not restrict it.
  • Recommendations currently cover pet insurance and select other coverage types. Coverage will expand to additional lines in future updates.
