Marking Plans as Sold
Once an Employer has made their benefits selections, brokers and employers can mark individual Proposal Items as sold in MonarkHQ. This creates a clear record of which plans were confirmed and keeps the Proposal workspace accurate for enrollment and carrier submissions.
What "Marking as Sold" Means
A Sold Plan is a Proposal Item that has been confirmed as the selected plan for enrollment. Marking a plan as sold:
- Records the final selection in MonarkHQ
- Triggers a notification to the broker (if marked by the Employer)
- Signals readiness for carrier submission and enrollment
Marking a plan as sold does not automatically submit anything to a carrier — it is a tracking action within MonarkHQ.
Who Can Mark a Plan as Sold
| Role | Where | | -------- | ------------------------ | | Broker | Proposal workspace | | Employer | Employer selections page |
Both the broker and employer can mark plans independently. If the Employer marks a plan, the broker receives a notification.
How Brokers Mark a Plan as Sold
- Open the Proposal
- Navigate to the Proposal tab
- Locate the Proposal Item to confirm
- Click Mark as Sold
- Confirm the action
The item updates to show its sold status in the proposal workspace.
How Employers Mark a Plan as Sold
Employers can mark plans from within their proposal experience:
- Open the proposal via the magic link
- Go to the selections page
- Click Mark as Sold next to the confirmed plan
- The broker receives a notification
Notifications
When an Employer marks a plan as sold, a pending sold plan notification is sent to the broker. This keeps the broker informed without requiring separate communication.
Brokers can review pending sold plans from within the Proposal.
Best Practices
- Mark plans as sold promptly after the Employer confirms their decision
- Use sold plan tracking as a handoff signal for your enrollment or implementation team
- Sold plan records are intentionally persistent — if selections change after marking, reach out to Monark support
Next Steps
After marking plans as sold:
- Coordinate carrier submissions for enrolled plans
- Begin member enrollment
- Archive or close the Proposal once implementation is complete
